» Autor*innenhinweise
Manuscripts must be written in English. Accepted papers are to be language checked by a native speaker. It is the author’s responsibility to present papers in an acceptable form, both in terms of grammar and expression, and she or he should check their manuscript for typing errors, spelling, punctuation, etc.
The manuscript should conform to the following requirements: Use 12-point type (times new roman or equivalent) double-spaced (including footnotes, references, appendixes, tables, and figures).
The title page is page 1. Under the title of your work, list authors' names, a short biosketch (about 50 words), and complete addresses including e-mail.
Page 2 shows the title of your article and the abstract (not your personal name or address). Your abstract should be about 100 words long. Use sequential page numbering throughout.
Papers should be divided in sections (i.e. 1., 2.) and, if necessary, subsections (either 1.1, 1.2 or a), b) …)
Footnotes should be kept to a minimum and placed automatically at the foot of the page to which they refer. They must not be used for citing references.
IJAR follows follows the citation rules of the APA-Style. For in-text citations, please include the authors' names and the year of publication in parentheses, e.g. (Williamson, 1975, 1996; Granovetter, 1985a; Cohen & Levinthal, 1990). Two or more publications by one author in the same year should have "a", "b" etc., added after the year.
Please be as precise as possible. For direct quotation, pages must be given after the year, e.g. (Coleman, 1988, p. 98). If a publication has three or more authors please list all names (Cohen, Miller, & Levinthal, 1990) and use "et al." the next times, e.g. (Cohen et al., 1990, pp. 97-98).
List references alphabetically by the last name of the first author. If there is no personal author use the corporate author, e.g. New York Times. Order publications by an identical author by year, listing the earliest first. In doubt, please have a look at the examples.
Book references follow this form:
Authors' last names, initials (year). Title. City: Name of publisher.
Example: Burt, R. S. (1992). Structural holes: The social structure of competition. Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press.
Chapters in books follow this form:
Authors' last names, initials (year): Title. editors' initials editors last names (eds.) Title of book. (edition, pp. pages). city: name of publisher.
Example: Scott, W. R., & Meyer, J. W. (1991). The organization of societal sectors: Propositions and early evidence. W.W. Powell & P.J. DiMaggio (eds.). The new institutionalism in organizational analysis (pp. 108-140). Chicago: University of Chicago Press.
Periodical references follow this form:
Authors' last names, initials (year): Title. Name of periodical, volume number (issue number), page numbers.
Example: Henisz, W. J., & Delios, A. (2001). Uncertainty, imitation, and plant location: Japanese multinational corporations, 1990-1996. Administrative Science Quarterly, 46(3), 443-475.
» Peer-Review-Verfahren
Zur Qualitätssicherung werden die Beiträge der Zeitschrift einem double-blind-peer-review-Verfahren unterzogen, d.h., die anonymisierten Beiträge werden zwei "Peers" – also Kolleg*innen mit einschlägigen Kenntnissen – vorgelegt. Die jeweiligen Autor*innen wissen nicht, wer jeweils die Begutachtung vornimmt. Zumeist gibt es einen Fragenkatalog, um die Qualität zu sichern. Am Ende der Begutachtung geben die Peer Reviewer eine Empfehlung zur Veröffentlichung des Beitrags, unter Umständen begleitet von Überarbeitungsauflagen, oder auch die Empfehlung, den Beitrag nicht zu veröffentlichen.
Wenn die Gutachter*innen einige Überarbeitungen verlangen, müssen die Autor*innen ihren überarbeiteten Beitrag erneut beim Editor–in-Chief einreichen, zusammen mit einem Begleitschreiben, in dem ausführlich erläutert wird, wie sie auf die Kommentare der Gutachter*innen reagiert haben. Wenn die überarbeiteten Beiträge zur Veröffentlichung angenommen werden, wird eine PDF-Datei zur Korrektur per E-Mail verschickt. Die endgültigen Korrekturen müssen innerhalb von 10 Tagen in Papierform an den Editor–in-Chief zurückgeschickt werden.
