» Selection Procedure and Revision Phases
Content quality assurance is the top priority in our two-stage process for selecting texts. After we receive your article proposal at the end of the submission period, it is anonymized and reviewed by the editorial team in a first step (review phase 1). They will evaluate it with the help of a list of criteria. The authors of the selected contributions are given the opportunity to revise them with the help of the editorial team's comments and suggestions (revision phase 1). In a second step (review phase 2), the revised contributions are anonymously forwarded to the members of the scientific advisory board (WB). The WB also bases its evaluation on the catalog of criteria mentioned above and makes a recommendation to the editors. In the fourth phase, we review the WB's evaluations and make a decision about which texts will be included in the upcoming issue. The WB's evaluation serves as a guide. We then forward the WB's comments to the authors. For articles that are not included in the issue, there is the possibility to publish them on the blog. Articles selected for publication in Soziologiemagazin are brought to publication readiness by the authors – accompanied and supported by the editorial board members (revision phase 2 and editing). For submitted reviews and reports, the process is somewhat shorter: Here, the review, evaluation and selection is carried out exclusively by the editorial team of Soziologiemagazin.
