» Profile of the Journal
Ever since 1988, BIOS functions as the academic forum for biographic research, oral history and – as of 2001 – for life course analyses. Across disciplines and national boundaries, scholars from sociology, history, pedagogy, ethnology and philology use BIOS as a viable forum.

Original research is published, methodologies are discussed, relevant publications are reviewed, old sources are revisited, pertinent events are announced.
