„This is not a discussion on climate change“ Klimawandel-Falschaussagen in US-amerikanischen Politik-Podcasts aus systemtheoretischer Perspektive

Abstract
„Post-truth“, „Fake News“, „alternative Fakten“ – Schlagworte wie diese sind aus aktuellen Diskursen um öffentliche Meinungsbildung, insbesondere im Zusammenhang mit Krisen wie der Corona-Pandemie oder der Klimakrise, kaum wegzudenken. Der Artikel wendet sich dem Medium Podcast zu und versucht dort verbreitete Falschaussagen, die auf den Klimawandel Bezug nehmen, zu charakterisieren. Damit wird ein an Popularität gewinnendes Medium betrachtet, dessen Rolle für die Verbreitung von Falschaussagen bisher wenig analysiert wurde. Theoretisch ist der Beitrag insbesondere an Kumkars (2022) Ansatz der kommunikativ-funktionalen Realitätsdekonstruktion orientiert. Methodisch wird von Mayrings (2010) strukturierender Inhaltsanalyse ausgehend ein Kategoriesystem unter Rückgriff auf Faktenchecks hergeleitet. Der Artikel liefert nicht nur das zentrale Ergebnis, dass klimawandelbezogene Falschaussagen in US-amerikanischen Politik-Podcasts vor allem als simple Widersprüche formuliert werden, sondern stellt in seinen konkreten Analyseentscheidungen ebenso einen mediensoziologischen Beitrag zur qualitativen Untersuchung des Mediums Podcast dar.
