Abstract
Abstract
The construct of administrative traditions is at the heart of public administration. Investigating the spread of intellectual ideas between German, French and US scholars over the period 1870 – 1970, the study demonstrates that “it is more realistic to interpret intellectual traditions as crossbreeds, instead of distinctively and uniquely German, French and US breeds” (Sager, Rosser, Mavrot & Hurni, 2018, p. 3). The study supports the notion that intellectual innovation requires strong publication output, a scientific network, and institutional support.
