The international journal publishes contributions to the scientific discussion in the social sciences, especially in the field of sociology.

It gains its profile from two thematic lines. On the one hand, it aims to go beyond the narrow disciplinary boundaries of the subject of sociology; in particular, it promotes exchange with related disciplines such as communication studies, philosophy, political science, ethnology and law. On the other hand, it opens up references to the discourses of sociology in its formation period for its range of topics.
