Matters of sound: A horizon of thought for sound as an epistemic value in feminist theory
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article proposes using the verb “to accord” as a means of analysing naturecultures. It draws on feminist concerns that have been captured with metaphors of sound since at least the 1970s. These concerns are bound together here as “matters of sound” that include responsible knowledge production and encompass what was previously unheard and unarticulated. In tracing the verb “to accord” through feminist epistemology, this work also sketches a conceptual history of the “matters of sound”.
