» Profile of the Journal
ZeHf – Zeitschrift für empirische Hochschulforschung (literally: Journal for Empirical Research in Higher Education) is an interdisciplinary journal with a focus on empirical academical research.
German universities underwent many structural and developemental changes during the past decades. At the same time, there was much progress in the theory and methodology of higher education.
ZeHf aims at a reflection and profiling of these trends (not only for the German area, though). Therefore, ZeHf offers an excellent chance for publication, particularly to the many young scientists in the respective fields. Information about recent empirical results is not only provided to researchers, but also to political and practical players in higher education.
ZeHf invites papers from all academic fields related to higher education research (e.g., psychology, social, and educational sciences). It is open to different theoretical approaches and different methodologies. However, contributions are expected to be based on empirical data (whether original or from secondary analyses) and may be directed at different units or levels of examination (e.g., students, teachers, faculties, administrations, or academic systems). Manuscripts written in German as well as in English are appreciated.
