Abstract

Abstract

This article presents the results of mass protest moods research on the political actions in Russia immediately after the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation (Dec.4, 2011). It tests the hypothesis of the deprivation of post-material needs in order to explain the rise of the protest moods in Russia. The imbalance between the expectations and the existing possibilities was found to be realized according to the pattern of progressive deprivation, in which the possibilities are relatively static while the expectations – are increasing.
