» Profile of the Journal
Diskurs Kindheits- und Jugendforschung offers a forum for presenting the latest findings in childhood and youth research, related issues in theory development, and social and educational policy as well as (social) pedagogical practice.
Founded in early 2006, the journal examines the historical origins, current situation, and future development of childhood and adolescence in contemporary societies, as well as the specific social and political challenges faced by children and adolescents.
The journal views childhood and youth studies as an interdisciplinary field. In special issue articles and unsolicited submissions, authors from various relevant disciplines have their say, such as educational science—including the (sub)disciplines of social pedagogy, childhood education, and school pedagogy—sociology, psychology, history, and human geography.
