ZISU – Zeitschrift für interpretative Schul- und Unterrichtsforschung is a forum for outstanding qualitative-empirical research results in the field of didactics and pedagogy. It is used for networking and profiling of shared research perspectives and wants to focus the attention to interdisciplinary, ready-for-theory and qualitative school and teaching research.
The journal closes a gap in two ways: For the first time, it creates a platform for innovative analyses and findings in the field of school and teaching within the spectrum of periodicals oriented towards the paradigm of research that understands meaning. It also provides an impetus for interdisciplinary discourse in the hitherto scarce cooperation between educational science and subject didactics.
Each issue contains a thematic focus, a general section, reviews (information sheet) and, if applicable, a contribution in the “Discussion” section. The journal attaches particular importance to the methodological and methodological quality of the articles, as this is an important prerequisite for the development of interpretative school and teaching research. There is also a special issue format. You can find all the information here.
The selection of articles is based on a two-stage process: In the first step, a criteria-led pre-selection of submissions is carried out by the editors of the journal, in which it is checked whether the submitted articles meet the journal's basic requirements. In the second step, the articles accepted in the first step are subjected to a double-blind peer review.
