The Journal of Educational Migration Research (Zeitschrift für erziehungswissenschaftliche Migrationsforschung – ZeM) provides a forum for the differentiated and interdisciplinary constituted field of educational migration research.

It aims to contribute to the visibility as well as to theoretical and empirical advancement of research that is concerned with questions of education in context of migration.

The editors invite the submission of theoretical and empirical articles that (1) analyze the forms and effects of education in the context of global, national and local migration conditions, dynamics and transformations, and (2) identify mechanisms that produce migration as an individually and socially significant phenomenon within organizational and professional contexts as well as in educational practices and discourses.

In particular, the journal seeks to encourage a critical reflection of the theoretical and methodological production of knowledge in the field of research itself. It aims to challenge the scientific community to identify and to focus on 'blind spots' and research gaps within the framework of an interdisciplinary and international oriented scientific discourse.

The journal is published twice a year and includes a key subject and an open section as well as reviews and/or conference reports.

The journal does not consider manuscripts that are under review elsewhere or that have been previously published. All articles published in ZeM are double-blind peer-reviewed.
